Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Astra mobile application ("Astra" or the "App") provided by Lucas Hooper ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using Astra, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Astra lets you import and read EPUB and PDF books, save highlights and bookmarks, track reading progress, and access optional Pro features such as Ask Astra, chapter briefs, and quizzes.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us of unauthorized use.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of books and content you import. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide App features you request (sync, highlights, AI features, etc.).

You represent that you have the right to import and use any content you add to Astra.

4. Astra Pro subscriptions

• Pro features require an active subscription billed through your Apple ID.
• Available plans include weekly, monthly, and yearly subscriptions as shown in the App.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. AI features

Ask Astra, briefs, and quizzes use automated systems. Outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are for educational and personal reading assistance only and should not be relied on as professional advice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Astra, including by attempting to reverse engineer the App, interfere with its operation, upload unlawful content, or use the service to infringe intellectual property rights.

7. Intellectual property

Astra, its design, branding, and software are owned by Lucas Hooper and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or software except the limited license to use the App.

8. Disclaimer

Astra is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lucas Hooper will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Astra.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Astra if you violate these Terms or if required for legal or security reasons. You may stop using the App at any time.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction of residence, except where mandatory consumer protections provide otherwise.
